ABOUT CATHERINE
“My interiors are born of a convergence of my background in art, a love for beauty, and my experience working in health and wellness. My style palette is multi-cultural, drawing from the many countries I’ve lived in across Europe and North America, and immersed in each of their unique creative expressions. I understand a space not just as a place; it’s a feeling. I understand how the power of space can transform the energy in it, and restoring beauty to a space can restore balance to our lives. These principles and influences are at the heart of every design for me."
Catherine Chichester established her decorative design consultancy in 2022.
Prior to this, Catherine spent over a decade working in the fine and decorative arts industry, including at Christie’s auction house and independent art dealerships. She holds an MA in Decorative Arts from the University of Glasgow.
She has continued to develop her creative palette, now seamlessly blending her classical experience and contemporary sensitivity into all of her original designs. Catherine instinctively creates an at-home feeling; transforming even the most practical of spaces into something beautiful and sacred.
Catherine divides her time between the Cotswolds and her native Belgium. Having lived variously in France, Germany, Belgium, the UK and California, Catherine’s interiors are inspired by this tapestry of cultural influences. Her work is characterised by sustainable practice, soulful combinations of objects and colour, and original, tailored proposals. Her aim is to translate her clients’ deeper stories into refined and atmospheric interiors, always in service of people and the planet.
Catherine’s interiors have been featured in international publications including House and Garden and she previously worked as a contributor for Condé Nast Traveller.
